Congratulations, You Played Yourself
MAGA got tricked into attacking one of our best. Again.
On January 5th, 2021, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke to U.S. Capitol Chief of Police Thomas Manger during a Rules and Administration oversight hearing. Their exchange lasted just shy of eight minutes and featured a monologue by Cruz at the beginning and then some questions and answers between him and the Chief.
You can watch the full video below (and I think you should, at least first minute or so).
Most likely, the only piece you have seen from this video is a 20 second clip that features the first few lines, “We are approaching a solemn anniversary this week and it is an anniversary of a violent attack on the US Capitol.“
Those words were all that was needed for the Corporate Media of the Left, Conservative Incorporated Media of the Right, and the hundreds (if not thousands) of reactionary pundits between them to whip MAGA up into a furious tizzy.
Whipped into a tizzy, over calling something what it is.
On January 6th, 2021, members of Antifa dressed up as MAGA (1, 2, 3, ). Some of, if not the very first people to breach the Capitol building were ANTIFA (4). They fought with law enforcement, they broke windows, they busted down doors, and they breached the US Capitol building. Rep Matt Gaetz has blamed Antifa terrorists for the attack (5). Cruz has been calling them terrorists and describing January 6th as a terrorist attack since it happened, (6, 7, 8). So has Rep Paul Gosar (9).

On January 6th, 2021, some real MAGA Patriots got mixed up in a protest, that became a mob, and eventually a riot (11). That was their mistake. They were emotional, justifiably upset, and they were fooled into interrupting the very thing they wanted to happen: the Objections to Electors from the Swing States. The damage they did to Election Integrity, MAGA, and Trump is immeasurable.
We are still taking damage one year later.
If not for the rioting and breach of the Capitol that day, we would have seen Senators and Representatives object to the electors from the States with the most fraud. Senators and Representatives such as Ted Cruz and Paul Gosar.
Oh what might have been. How different that day, night, and this year may have gone.
Instead, some good people were tricked into undermining this proceeding, sullying MAGA, and giving the Dems, RINOs, and their media an obvious opening to blame Trump for something he had nothing to do with.
And one year later, some good people have been tricked into a attacking the very Senator who signed that first objection.
People love to be reactionary. Media has conditioned us to be that way, and the punditry, on both sides, feeds that conditioning with their hot takes and juvenile bash segments.
They showed a 20sec clip of Cruz and so many of y'all (MAGA) fell for it. Have you learned nothing from five years of the exact same media trick being pulled on Trump?
Ted Cruz was correct to call the people who rioted and broke into the Capitol on January 6th terrorists. He could have articulated it better and he admits that.
As good of a senator as he has been, and was on that day when he objected to Electors from Arizona, we should give him a bit of grace here.

People are easily led around by the nose by both sides of the media when all they do is rely on emotions.
We’re in an actual media war and people still don’t question anything.
Like you said.... they run with the media “hot take”! Love that term. I use it a lot more often since hearing it from Brian Cates!
