There is a high probability that Trump would not have been elected if not for the exposure work of the JOURNALISTIC site Wikileaks. I could not disagree with you more on that, Kyle. Who was holding the rogue factions accountable? It IS OUR job as voters to run this government, not some fathead clowns, particularly those who were openly Communist and anti-American. This disgusting and out of control government uses OUR tax dollars to pay for expensive lawyers to actually FIGHT FOIA requests. That's not appropriate. How are we to manage them within this ridiculous system. Assange had a strict policy of how to handle information and adhered to it, but a rogue employee did cause some damage. I think 12 years has proven Assange's integrity. Also, the government has some responsibility for allowing this to happen. If they want to claim that they are soooooo important that they have to be above the law in their operations, then that requires extreme integrity and security and they FAILED. That's what they are most upset about and need that scape goat for.
